The Last Guardian

Plenty of individuals were hoping to hear something — anything — about the status of The Last Guardian during Sony’s PlayStation 4 press event earlier this week. Sadly, the presser came and went and we never got even the slightest tidbit of information concerning the project, which has been delayed numerous times and appears to be in a development limbo of sorts.

When approached about the topic by Kotaku, Sony World Studios President Shuhei Yoshida apologized for the lack of updates. “I apologize to people who are waiting for the game,” stated Yoshida. “Ueda-san posted that he’s still working on it, that he’s creative-directing it and that the team in the Japan studios are working hard. We are waiting for the right time to re-introduce The Last Guardian.”

Yoshida was asked if The Last Guardian would instead be released on the PlayStation 4, to which he replied that Sony and everyone involved would address that matter at a later time. Creator Fumito Ueda recently gave a small bit of insight on the project, which he confirmed is still in development under his supervision.
