In addition to some new reveals, Nintendo also offered up information on games we already knew about during its Nintendo Direct presentation today. One of those titles is Animal Crossing; New Leaf, the jolly-looking town sim set to land on the 3DS.

While the game’s been available in Japan for a good while (and doing quite well for itself), the North American market is currently lacking in the New Leaf department. It looks like that won’t be the case for much longer, because Nintendo has revealed the official launch date for the upcoming portable game.

New Leaf will be available starting June 9. While online functionality is still under wraps, Nintendo stated that we can expect details on that aspect of the game a bit closer to launch.

It’s been a while since I played Animal Crossing, so I’m pretty stoked about New Leaf. Anyone else looking forward to a fresh start in a new town full of talking animals?
