Sony Mentions Direct PSP Store At GDC

Awhile back, Sony said it was contemplating over the idea of a direct PSP Store, a store in which users would simply be able to access downloadable content from their PSP, rather than go through the current process of downloading the content on PC and then transferring it over to their PSP via USB.

Those ideas seem to be a little closer to fruition as Chris Eden from Sony Computer Entertainment made mention of a direct PSP Store in his GDC presentation, which denoted the following:

* Access native PLAYSTATION Store on PSP via wireless hotspot the slide notes.

* Purchase and download content direct to PSP (no USB cable).

A rollout for the PSP Store is still TBA, according to the presentation slide. Is this a feature we can look forward to in the upcoming firmware 4.xx series? Let’s hope so.
