Carmack: Downloadable Super Quality Pack Possible for Rage PC
by Mike Bendel on August 4, 2011 @ 1:46 pm

At this year’s 2011 QuakeCon keynote, tech wiz and Id Software director John Carmack said a downloadable ‘super quality pack’ for Rage PC is possible.
The pack would take advantage of the extra RAM and graphics memory that PCs have to offer, bringing with it higher res textures, similar to the update Crytek released for the PC iteration of Crysis 2 earlier this year.
Why not pre-include the high-res assets? Apparently, Id wants to release them as a patch to “test the extra benefit.”
Thanks, VG247.
