Square Enix has inked an agreement with developer Techland to publish its promising zombie-laden action RPG Dead Island.
“Square Enix’s impressive distribution and marketing capabilities, combined with their proven success with launching top-notch AAA titles, makes them the absolute best partner for Dead Island,” said Deep Silver COO Geoff Mulligan.
Formally unveiled in February of this year, the title places a heavy emphasis on survival and melee combat. Techland is aiming for a true survival horror experience, one that leaves players at their wit’s end in a struggle against bloodthirsty zombies. It’ll also feature four-way co-op, complete with customizable character classes.
