Sony Unifies Online Services Under ‘SNEA’ Umbrella

by Mike Bendel on March 24, 2011 @ 1:03 pm

Beginning April 1, Sony Computer Entertainment America will transfer its online services, including wallet funds, to Sony Network Entertainment America. The shift marks Sony’s latest move to unify and enhance integration across its broad portfolio of services, such as PSN and Qriocity.

According to Sony, the switch will essentially be transparent to end-users, apart from a mandatory TOS that users must agree to when signing on. Opting not to agree with the revised terms will result in the closure of your accounts, with any remaining wallet funds refunded.

Apart from the obvious name change, there’s no noteworthy revisions to the terms of service. If you still feel like sifting through copious amounts of legal jargon, hit up this link.

This comes amid the latest corporate shakeup at Sony, which saw the realignment of its Consumer Products division, now led by PlayStation boss Kaz Hirai.

I don't think there's anything negative to imply here. They just seem to have streamlined their various offices.
