Square Enix is paying yet another visit to its expansive backcatalog, having announced today via its Twitter account that Legend of Mana will be re-released as a PSOne classic on PSN in the near future. Here’s the kicker: this announcement applies to Japan only. There’s no word yet on when the artsy RPG might see a North American release.

Feeling envious already? Well, recall that Square Enix did bring the PSN rendition of Final Fantasy IX over domestically in only a month’s time following its overseas debut. There’s a chance we could see a quick turnaround time again. Then again, perhaps not, as the Mana series admittedly does not carry the same weight of importance as Final Fantasy.

Still, fingers crossed.
