Star Ocean 4 Confirmed For Xbox 360, First Screens

At Microsoft’s Xbox 360 RPG Premiere event held in Tokyo today, publisher Square Enix confirmed that Star Ocean 4 is in development for the Xbox 360. Exclusivity has yet to be decided, but producer Yoshinori Yamagishi did note that the game would hit the Xbox 360 first, with a release on PS3 simply a possibility at this point.

We cannot announce anything on that. We can say that it will be released first [on the Xbox 360]. Whether we’ll release it on the PS3 is undecided. We may release it, we may not.

Considering current 360 sales in Japan, a PS3 version is almost inevitable down the road. The game is due out sometime in 2009. A North American release date has yet to be announced. For the first screenshots, hit the break.

damnit, I thought playstation would continue its rpg dominance into this generation, but it seems like all the good rpg's are getting developed on the 360. The only thing I'm looking forward to is final fantasy...
