According to sources close to technology site Arstechnica, an Xbox 360 Pro package that’s similar to Sony’s PlayStation 3 starter pack will be introduced on October 9 which includes Forza 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance as pack-ins. Weeks following the release of the Pro package, an Elite package will debut on October 23.

The existence of both bundles has been known for some time but this is the first time actual dates have been revealed.

Also, near the end of October, a new Xbox 360 SKU is set to launch for $279.99 and will include an HDMI port, wireless controller, 256MB memory card, and five arcade games. Likely, this SKU will replace the “Core” model as we know it.
