Those with a Japanese XBL account may already have it — but if not, Capcom sent word today announcing that a Resident Evil 5 demo will made available exclusively on the Xbox Live Marketplace next week Monday, January 26.

Set in the beginning of the game, said demo will highlight several new gameplay additions, including the chance to try out two player co-op — a first for the series. Players will explore the locales of Assembly Place and Shanty Town, both of which are filled to brim with ruthless Majini and have a couple puzzles thrown in for good measure.

The full version of Resident Evil 5 is expected to hit retailers nationwide on March 13 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
