Seems a popular rumor floating around today is that Epic plans to show off a tech demo of Gears 2 at E3 2007. Not true – rumor has been officially debunked. Epic Games’ Mark Rein personally commented on the matter:

We are not announcing a sequel to Gears of War at E3 this year.

Did you see the update we just did for Gears of War last week? We’re still working on the first one.

There you have it. No Gears of War 2 at E3 2007. Am I surprised? No.
