In just over a month Halo: Reach is set to launch and right when you thought you knew it all even more details are coming out of the woodwork. Both IGN and Gamespot managed to get some hands-on time with the game recently and have published their impressions online.

Gamespot revealed that the illusion armor ability, hinted at in an earlier trailer, is indeed real and works by sending out an illusion of the player out in a straight line. Just point your reticule and hit the armor ability button to send out an illusion of yourself to trick your unsuspecting enemies. You can read Gamespot’s impressions of the campaign here.

IGN also got their hands on a few maps from the campaign and had their own details to reveal. If you’re interested in new vehicles there’s the new Covenant vehicle, the Revanent. The Revanent is described as a cross between a Wraith’s firepower and the speed of the Ghost. IGN also managed to check out some new multiplayer maps, one of which is a remake of a classic map, Ivory Tower. You can check out their video of the new maps after the break.
