Milo and Kate – Milo’s Mind is in the Cloud
by July 13, 2010 @ 12:34 pm

At the TedGlobal 2010 conference Peter Molyneux showed off the latest progression with Milo and Kate for Microsoft’s Kinect. The game, which puts the player in the shoes of Milo’s friend, takes full advantage of the new capabilities brought on by the Kinect add-on by using voice and body controls as well as voice and body recognition.
One of the most intriguing points that came out of the demonstration was that Milo’s “mind” will be cloud-based and will not reside on the retail disc. This allows Milo’s mind to be constantly evolving even after the game ships. This will increase the accuracy and responsiveness of Milo the more people interact with him. It’s unclear however if this will require the game to have an internet connection to function, although my bets are on it does.
