Marvel MMO In Limbo

According to website 1UP, Marvel Universe Online has hit “hit serious, potentially stalling, development troubles.”

The news comes mere days after EGM editor Shane Bettenhausen said on last week’s 1UP Yours Podcast that a major Microsoft first-party title had been axed. At first, some speculated the canceled title to be Banjo Kazooie, but later we found out from Rare that it definitely wasn’t Banjo.

Last week, developer Cryptic Studios announced that it had sold its rights to the City of Heroes MMO, which it had been working on, to publisher NCSoft. In addition to losing nearly 15 percent of its staff over the deal, Cryptic refrained to comment on MUO’s development status in the announcement.

Whatever the case may be, things aren’t looking up for Marvel Universe Online.
