E3 2007: Halo 3 Special Edition Xbox 360

So, what was the mysterious green console tucked away at Microsoft’s E3 booth? A special edition, Halo-themed Xbox 360! Microsoft announced the console at its E3 press conference today, also revealing all the nitty gritty specifications:

Halo 3 Special Edition Console
Halo 3 Special Edition Wireless Controller
Halo 3 Special Edition 20GB Hard Drive
Halo 3 Special Edition Wired Headset
Halo 3 Special Edition Gamer Pics and Theme (Exclusive download via Xbox LIVE)
Component HD AV Cable
Ethernet Cable
HDMI Port
Play & Charge Kit
Xbox LIVE Silver Membership
One-month Xbox LIVE Gold Membership
Halo 3 game not included – sold separately

Quite a list I’m sure you’ll agree. Interesting to note, the console includes an HDMI port just like the Elite 360, but only has a 20GB hard drive rather than a 120GB. Pricing details haven’t been revealed yet, but we’ll keep you posted. On a side note, I’m surprised they aren’t bundling the actual Halo 3 game with the unit. Looks nice though.

That's cool. Probably going to be expensive as hell.

Too bad it doesn't come with the actual game in the bundle, that's pretty stupid. I guess they figure any fan die-hard enough to buy this xbox will buy the game separately anyway. Nice marketing strategy.

They apparently also hope the fanboys will overlook the 20GB HD just because it's Halo themed. Sadly, I'm sure they will.

This whole bundle here is a big marketing ploy, I'm sorry to say. They give you one month of xbox live which really of no cost to them, cheat you out of 40GB, don't include the actual game, and give you a few images.

So simply, it's a colored 360 with some exclusive image downloads. meh.

60gb harddrive? , I thought it was only 20 and elite 120

x3sphere says:

uh, yeah you're right :P Elite has a 120GB HD, not 60GB. My fault... dunno where that number came from... xD

So yeah, 100GB less than the Elite but does have an HDMI port. The hard drive should've been bigger imo.

He's probably thinking of ps3..... Don't know how though. Anyways it looks sweet but yea should've had bigger drive.
