Nintendo’s WiiFit already made its splash in Europe and as expected, is selling by the bucketload, with big-name UK retail chain Woolworths completely selling through their initial shipments within a day.

Will WiiFit be as popular in North America when it hits on May 19? You can bet on it. According to a Reuters report, Wal-Mart will try and convince shoppers that the exercise title is the “perfect gift” for Mother’s Day.

The retail giant is launching a WiiFit pre-order campaign this weekend, offering those who purchase the title by May 11 a free $10 Wal-Mart gift card.
