Virtual Console Hits Milestone on Monday

Nintendo announced today that NES classic Zelda II – The Adventure of Link will be added to the Wii’s Virtual Console on Monday, making it the 100th classic title to hit the service. Since the Wii’s launch last November, users have downloaded more than 4.7 million games from its retro-friendly Virtual Console service, at a rate of more than 1,000 games every hour.
Unsurprisingly, four of the five top game downloads are Mario titles according to Nintendo:
- Super Mario Bros.
- Super Mario 64
- Mario Kart 64
- Super Mario World
- The Legend of Zelda
