VC Update: Ragers, Lazers, AND Monkeys

Wow, the Wii Virtual Console lineup this week is surprisingly impressive. A couple days ago I told you all to get Blazing Lazers (which was confirmed early), but now it looks like you’ll have to grab all three.
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest (SNES – 800 Wii Points): Sequel to the original SNES hit, Donkey Kong Country. Nemesis K. Rool has kidnapped the lovable Donkey Kong, putting both Diddy Kong and his girlfriend Dixie Kong on a rescue mission to save the brute. Along the way, you’ll collect lots of bananas. Lots of bananas.
Streets of Rage 2 (Sega Genesis, 800 Wii Points): Hands down, one of the greatest beat ‘em ups of all time. Rage 2 didn’t reinvent the genre, but simply improved upon the original in a big way.
Blazing Lazers (TurboGrafx16 – 600 Wii Points): As previewed during the weekend, Blazing Lazers is an old-school, space-age shoot ‘em up. Highly recommended.
As I said, it’s nearly impossible to pick favorites this week! Grab the whole bunch if you can.

That makes this the first week in a while to actually have something I wanted to download. :-/
So far, I've been sticking to the classics.. Zelda, Mario, Kirby... I just have a feeling that I've played all of the really good old games, and I'm not much for paying for something that has mainly nostalgic appeal when I don't share the nostalgia. I liked the first DK Country, though, so I'll probably give this one a try.
