VC Update Monday: Golf

The weekly Wii Virtual Console update is here, bringing you three all-new classic games. This week’s lineup includes:
NES Open Tournament Golf (NES – 500 Points): Follow-up to the original NES Golf. It, like its predecessor, featured Mario as the main golfer. But this time, Mario actually looked like Mario, not some portly golfer. If you’re a sports fan or a fan of golfing games in general, pick this one up. Although Nintendo’s first attempt at the golf genre was rather embarrassing, NES Open Tournament Golf is nothing like it, featuring great graphics, customizable controls, and a decent soundtrack to boot. A must-buy.
World Sports Competition (TurboGrafx-16, 600 Points): Get NES Open Tournament Golf.
Bloody Wolf (TurboGrafx-16 600 Points): Breaking out of the sports mold is Data East’s answer to Contra. Players take on the role of a crack commando and blast away enemy territory with an expansive array of weapons, including machine guns and grenades.
