Square Enix Cross Platform MMO Likely Not Coming To Wii

Speaking at the Austin Game Developers Conference this Thursday, Final Fantasy XI producer Hiromichi Tanaka said that Square Enix has no plans to bring its upcoming “cross-platform” Massively Multiplayer Online RPG to the Wii.
As for Nintendo Wii it would be pretty difficult if you were to do cross-platform. First of all, Nintendo isn’t allowing cross-platform, and as you know there’s the graphical issue. So right now we’re not looking at it.
Bummer. Not all that surprising though, considering Nintendo’s stance with Friend Codes and all that. A cross-platform MMO just wouldn’t fit.
