Nintendo Not Imposing Size Limits On WiiWare

Earlier this week it was revealed on IGN’s podcast that Nintendo was limiting WiiWare games to only 40MB. However, that’s not exactly true, according to a Nintendo spokesperson.
Speaking to GI.biz, the spokesperson clarified IGN’s claims by stating that the 40MB number is not a cap, but merely a suggestion.
I can confirm as we originally said at the announcement of the WiiWare service earlier in the year that WiiWare games will come in a range of sizes but we will encourage smaller, more compact games for the service.
In addition, Nintendo said it is considering to impose a one game release per month rule on all licensed developers during the launch window.
