Iwata: Nintendo Must Not Become Arrogant

Nintendo has overtaken the video game market by storm, but what’s the next hurdle for the company to overcome? Not becoming arrogant.

I believe my most important role right now is to prevent Nintendo from being in a company where people say, ‘Oh, Nintendo is arrogant, Nintendo has let its guard down’, or ‘Nintendo has lost its challenging spirit’. We want to avoid all of the pitfalls that can come from losing one’s momentum.

Iwata has the right thinking here and let’s hope he stays true to his word, for Nintendo’s sake. Arrogance is never a good thing in the eyes of the public.
