The Sting developed board game-RPG hybrid known as Dokapon Kingdom will see a stateside release on October 14 for Wii and Nintendo DS, publisher Atlus announced today.

In the game, players take control of a warrior who has been asked by the King of Dokapon to fight and defeat an army of fiends surrounding the land. Upon completion of the task you’ll be granted rule over the kingdom and take the hand of Princess Penny. Easy enough, right? Turns out that the King has presented the same offer to three other friends, but only one takes home the prize, so be prepared to form rivalries along the way in your quest to become the hero.

Featuring local multiplayer support and a unique strategic turn-based battle system, Atlus is promising “endless replayability” with a multitude of play modes, battles, magic spells, and mini-games.

The Kingdom of Dokapon is a land of wealth and riches ruled by a gold-loving King and his daughter Princess Penny. One day, monsters begin appearing all over the realm, assaulting the towns and stealing all of the empire’s wealth.
