During an earnings conference call today, EA CEO John Riccitiello explained that the company is expanding its focus on Wii this year. In addition to releasing a steady flow of causal, family friendly titles, EA is promising to bring more core titles to the platform. The first of which is Dead Space, an unlikely pick no doubt.

Despite the obvious graphical limitations, Riccitiello likened the “quality and fear factor” of Dead Space Wii to the already released PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, but did not mention if it will be a direct port.

We’re bringing a Wii title to market this year, and it absolutely has the quality and fear factor that you got on the PS3 and Xbox 360 and PC last year.

While further details were not released at this time, we’ll no doubt be hearing more soon. Will be interesting to see how it turns out.
