Capcom: Resident Evil Wii Port Could Reach America

As revealed yesterday, Capcom is releasing a direct port of the GameCube Resident Evil remake on Wii, albeit with slightly modified controls. Is it coming to America? Like the Resident Evil Zero port before it, probably not. But there is a chance it could, according to Capcom VP Christian Svensson:
At the moment, like Zero, this is Japan only. That could change but that’s the current situation.
In response to why Capcom is releasing ports of older titles with little to no modifications, Svensson noted that RE0 Wii “sold well,” proving a market exists for people that have yet to play the originals. That’s great. Hopefully, the revenue earned from these quick ports is going towards a new Resident Evil for Wii.
