Homebrew developer NephilimNX has announced that ThemePlus! NX is officially out of beta with the release of version 3.01. For those new to the application, ThemePlus! NX is a custom firmware plugin for the PSP that allows users to easily change their custom theme, wallpaper, and gameboot at timely intervals.

First and foremost, this release patches up a major bug that locked up the PSP when no custom themes and / or wallpaper or gameboot file was found. The author notes that the program should now run fine on either regular or Slim PSPs running custom firmware 3.71 M33-2. The complete changelog can be found below.

Changes
- Fixed a major bug that locks up the PSP when no custom themes and/or wallpaper and/or gameboot file found. So this should work 100% now on Original and Slim PSP running on custom firmware 3.71 M33-2.
- Included the DEBUG version (see FAQ for more info)
- Included the binary and source code of ThemePlus! NX v2 for 3.52 M33-4 (this was before the code was re-written from scratch for 3.71 M33-2)

Still in beta, this release features improved compatibility and optimization improvements over the previous beta release, bringing XMB load times down from 20 seconds to only 2 seconds.

New Features
- Optimized speed! Delayed XMB load was reduced from 20 seconds to 2 seconds! Replacing Custom Theme, Wallpaper, and Gameboot at the same time is faster than replacing Wallpaper only from the previous version. Yep, you’ve read that right.
- Fixed some bugs on Interval not working correctly. It should work properly from now on.
- Improved compatibility

The updated release features support for official Sony custom theme (PTF) files, as well as the ability to create your own custom theme combination.
