Yamauchi Outlines PSP GT Plans

The PSP version of Gran Turismo is still a ways off… OK, a long ways off, we won’t be seeing it until GT5 is out the door. But GT: Mobile isn’t all PSP owners have to look forward to. In a recent interview, Polyphony Digital head Kazunori Yamauchi revealed more than a couple interesting PS3 to PSP connectivity features that he would like to include in GT5.
One idea Yamauchi has is to allow users to save replays of their race experience on the PS3, over to the PSP. By saving replay videos onto the PSP, you’d be able to take them anywhere, and show them off to friends.
More interestingly, Yamauchi said he’s also throwing around the idea of including PS3 to PSP versus play.
It would be nice if we were able to allow people to compete whether they’re on the road or in their living room on the PS3, compete in the same race. Even though the visual qualities will be different depending on which hardware they’re on it would be nice if we could allow for that. Technically, we think we should be able to.
Neat idea, hopefully it becomes a reality.
