fLaSh says:

Thx ne0h for hard work in this project, I appreciate a lot this tool! :)

x3sphere says:

Great release :) The ability to playback PMF format video files is a nice feature.

jx233 says:

I would only use this if it replaces iRShell or if it is better than iRshell.

but it does look visually pleasing to the eyes+ useful.
=D

and does anyone know if it works on 3.52 M33?

dennis96411 says:

There is really no need to have IRShell if you have a slim, because the slim does not have an IR port, making the Remote Control app unusable. Just get the Bookr stand alone if that's what you like so much.

jx233 says:

i own a TA-082 "Fat" with 3.52 M33-4 and I am dependent on iRShell. (its still a great app)
but thanks for the tip anyways. =D

ne0h says:

Suggestion for the new relases?

silver_surfer says:

@ ne0h:

thanks for the homebrew! I just noticed that it can't detect the whole capacity of the memory stick..

Juliet says:

@ ne0h:

Great release! PMF Player is an awesome addon. Thx...

For the next release:
* .zip and .rar decompression support
* .cso compression option in UMD Dumper.

Then I will replace both PSP Filer and PSPlorer with this.

jx233 says:

a suggestion would be unzip and unrar function.
add the ability to use the analog stick as pointer/cursor.

works in 1.50 kernel mode in 3.52 M33-4.

ne0h says:

the unzip function is already present on the programm, try to click X on a zip file ;)
Rar and CSO support is planed for th next relase! ( Maybe the possibility to move the mouse with the analog! )

jx233 says:

Ne0h, i found a bug in your program!
Ok, in 3.52 M33-4, this program works in 1.50 kernel fine.
but when i try it at 3.52 kernel, it gives me a wierd error and quits the app.

Is the bug happening because 3.52 kernel is the KN folder, but since 1.50 kernel is KD for 3.52 M33-4 and lower, it works in 1.50 mode. (except launch internet browser, that is a thing 1.5 is missing)

I just wanted to point out the bug.

Can you please fix it?
I just don't want a good app ruined because of some bug/error.

And please add the feature of using analog stick as cursor for the app?

*If you add unRAR, CSO, analog nub-as-cursor,+ file Hex Editing, this will replace iRShell+PSPlorer. (although iRShell is still a very great useful app. {Thanks for making iRShell Ahman!})

ne0h says:

I haven't understand the bug! O.O
When the program start there's no one module loaded from flash, so I've don't understand the error, sorry
:(

jx233 says:

on 3.52 M33-4, in 1.50 kernel mode, your app works; but in 3.52 kernel it doesn't load.
strange.
plus I load it from ms0:/PSP/GAME folder only.

In other words, your app does NOT work under 3.52 kernel, but for a strange reason: IT WORKS under 1.50 kernel.

but thats a minor bug, and the app is very great. :)

ne0h says:

Ok, thanks!

jx233 says:

no problem, and I'm patiently waiting for the next Xplora. so take your time.

:)

and for a future Xplora, it would be great if there was an "Update Xplora" function that downloads updates in Xplora and installs them.

ne0h says:

Yes, I've already think to a update feature!

jx233 says:

yeah, that would be cool.

can you start a new thread about Xplora 1.7?

then i will download it.

ne0h says:

?Download a thread?
I haven't understand...
Anyway the next release is Xplora 2.0...

jx233 says:

sorry
i meant download the next Xplora.
just start a new thread.
:)

ne0h says:

Do you want that I start a new thread of Xplora for seggestions, right?

jx233 says:

yes.
start a thread called:

[RELEASE] Xplora v2.0+Suggestions

plus, for future updates, add a firmware checker, that if below 2.71, the app wont start; that way there might be less reports of the app crashing from old kernels.

ne0h says:

Sorry, but I've not a lot of time to work on Xplora, anyway I'll release it in two weeks with a lot of improvement!
Probably with this release I'll add a firmware check to allow run programm only by the fw greater than 3.90!

Juliet says:

I can't view .pmf files with this. I copied some videos from Lumines II to my memory stick but whenever I want to watch them with Xplora, the app freezes, forcing me to push the circle button to stop the process if there is any. Additionally, I can't see a PMF Video Player app under Applications menu.

I think the player doesn't support streaming meaning big/long videos can't be opened with it. That makes no difference. It doesn't play any video at all regardless of the size.

ne0h says:

Ok, before release a new version I'll try to fix the errors!
Anyway I've just finished to add a new exception handler, it can help me to resolve future bugs, and if a exception was hooked it can reboot Xplora without shutdown the PSP!
Very simple but very useful!
And another question, have you tryed to play this video with another Video Player?
Anyway when you press X on it, the PMF player read and play it, and at the end of the video you have to exit with circle, because the PMF player on Xplora 1.6 doesn't can reset the video mode, so I have to reboot Xplora!
I'll fix this problem with the next releases!
Please, try to play the gameboot!
Access to the flash0 from Xplora, go to the vshresource directory and play the file called gameboot.pmf!
The PMF Player have to play it with no problem!

jx233 says:

Sp what about the next Xplora?

my xplora freezes up when renaming files. :(

Starkadh says:

@ne0h

Excellent update, noticed a issue when opening a compressed file. (*.zip) The first time I open the file it uncompresses just fine, if I try to open another compressed file it generates an error. I then have to shut down the app and restart it to open another one. I thought at first it was a corrupted file, but after restarting the app and trying again it works. So it appears to be happening only on the second attempt to open a file.

I'm running it on a PSP 2001 with 4.01m33-2

Stark

ne0h says:

Thanks, I'll fix this error!
Anyway, I've a lot todo before release a new version, something like 2 weeks!

dennis96411 says:

Hey, does having to much homebrew make the organizer not work? Cause I have, uh.... About 70, and everytime I try to use the organizer, the PSP gets stuck and shuts down. Can you fix that bug?

BeNnY says:

Awesome job!
Love it!

ne0h says:

dennis96411, now the Homebrew Sorter use a lot of memory, and the free ram in the FAT when Xplora is loaded is very small...
Anyway I'll improve the homebrew sorter for the next release, for use less ram and show the programs icons ( maybe with the correct name ), and not only the directory name!

Starkadh says:

@ne0h

Keep having a problem with 1.6 and the handling of compressed files. It appears to uncompress a zip file the first time after the app is started. But when attempting to uncompress a second compressed file, it generates a error. If I stop the application and then restart it, it will decompress the same file it generated an error with.

Have it loaded on a PSP Slim and 4.01m33-2 CFW.

ne0h says:

Ok, thanks!
Already working on this bug!

BeNnY says:

*Suggestion*
Add more icons for files...
They don't have to be opened but just to make it look a bit better...
Good luck! ;p

kerubin says:

Thank you very much for the release but can i request for upload in other web, because for my region here, i can't download from rapidshare.
Thanks in advance.

ne0h says:

The programm was posted everywhere, sure you can find a megaupload link!
Anyway, I think that I can't post links of another psp forum, so a little search with google can help you to find what you want!
Sorry!

ne0h

ne0h says:

Some days ago it was released a unofficial patch for Xplora, to add German language and add GAME5XX folder to the homebrew sorter, anyway the program is the same! ;)

Larz258 says:

Could you add support for .EXE programs, like MMS makers. Because I have found some files, I download, come in a .exe format to unzip them auto-matically (without Winrar or something like that), and its gets very annoying. Also could you Please add MP4 audio files support?Because more then half of the music on my MS is in that format and it wont work with 1.6. And maybe a better PMF player, I have found that I can copy cutscenes from some UMDs to my memory stick. But they don't always play, and the ones that do take a while to load.
Thanks,
ne0h
I can't wait for 2.0

Larz258 says:

Also will you make support for 5.xx in the next one? I have the unofficial patch, but it is a little laggy.

Larz258 says:

One more thing, could you make it support UMD-movie dumping? Unless the UMD it self is not letting me copy it, like how some DVDs have that digital copy now. Making you assume that other ones were not copy-able. If thats the case then never mind.

Larz258 says:

I believe the audio file type I mentioned previously is specically called .M4A

ne0h says:

Now I'm working on PMF Player to make it better.

I know, I've to investigate...

Yes, now runs with no problems on 5.xx...
Probably I'll add some checks to make it running only on 4.xx and 5.xx cfw!
For MP4 audio files, I'll try...

mmm... Strange, so Umd-Movie have a digital protection, I've never had a UMD-Movie, I'll try to enable UMD Dumper to dump UMD-Movie...
Before release 1.8 I've to fix some bugs on Text Editor and Music Player, next I've to wait DAX than have to fix me a bug in a M33 functions for UMD driver.
Finally I'll have a look in the UMD Dumper for UMD-Video dump and MP4 audio files.
There's no way to open a .EXE file, I cannot open it...

jx233 says:

Can you release a 3.XX kernel version of this?
it would good for TimeMachine 3.60 M33 and 3.40 OE too.
It be nice for people like me on older firmwares to use Xplora.

ne0h says:

jx233, if you want to run Xplora on older fw you have the 4.01 cfw on TM.
The only one function that there's only on 4.xx and highter fw is the one that I use for launch bootstrap module...
I'll probably add fw check for 3.60 and lower...
I doesn't want to release a version for fw lower that 3.60, there's no need to do this, and there's no reasons to stay on a old cfw like this...
Anyway I've just fixed the bugs on Text Editor and Music Player...

jx233 says:

I have another question, why use an FW check?

Xplora crashes on 3.60 M33 and lower anyways.

my 4.01 on TimeMachine is laggy and slow, so I don't get a chance with Xplora anymore.

its wierd because all other TM firmware is faster, but 4.01 lags.

ne0h says:

I'll add a fw check because sometimes it works on lower fw, like 1.50, but some features doesn't work...
I don't want to read some bug reports only because of fw version...

Are you sure that crash on 3.60?

Larz258 says:

Thank you ne0h. Can't wait for 1.8.
And Jx233, why don't you just update? Or get Rain's MMS maker for 4.01. It uses time machine and has a test firmware feature so you can use 4.01 M33 off the meory stick from any firmware. (because last time I checked dax hasn't made time machine for all FWs yet). You can use it without formatting you MS, since it just adds the TM folder.
Also the firmware check would be a nice feature to stop your PSP from crashing.
