TA-088 v3 Security Nearly Defeated, IPL Signature Forged

As the above headline clearly reads, the security preventing homebrew code from running on TA-088 v3 PSP units has nearly been defeated. Dark-AleX.org administrator Alek sends word that developer “Brokencodes” has managed to forge a portion of the IPL signature block. Technical details aside, this achievement marks a significant victory for the homebrew scene and could very well lead to custom firmware on TA-088 v3 motherboards. Pending further research from Dark_AleX and co, of course. Stay tuned.

but wasn't the ta-088v3 only for the slim and the ta-090 for the psp 3000? or would it still work on both the new 2000 and 3000 psps?

x3sphere says:

Correct, this is only for TA-088 v3 motherboards. The PSP-3000 has a different board so I don't know if it'll work on that, guess it depends if changes were made to the signing algorithm. Likely it will though, seeing as Datel seems to banking on the fact that a hack is found by the time their service mode battery is released.
