The Nintendo DS isn’t the only portable getting games marketed to casual gamers. Sony is planning to release a kid-centric version of Talkman, its voice-activated translation software for the PSP which was previously released in Japan and Europe.
The new title, Talkman Shiki: Shabe Lingual Eikaiwa for Kids, aims to help children improve their English-speaking skills with a variety of exercises and mini-games that make use of the PSP’s USB microphone peripheral.
The game is due out in Japan on June 28 and will ship to retail in two different packages – a standard package containing only the UMD for 4,200 yen ($35 US), and a premium package that includes the microphone peripheral for 5,800 yen ($50 US).
