Sony’s Eric Lempel, the man responsible for PSN operations over at SCEA, has stated in a recent interview that Sony is looking to cut down on the frequency of PS3 firmware updates.
Right. Right. We’re trying to certainly cut down on the amount of times we do it. But on occasion when we’ve got these good features ready to go, let’s give them out to the consumers. Let’s get them out there. We definitely understand that it does happen frequently and that can be somewhat annoying to some users.
In addition, Lempel said that Sony is working on some techniques to make the updating process easier and faster. Quite honestly, I don’t know how much more easy the updating process can get, but it certainly could be faster.
