Sony Looks Ahead, Drops Hints On PSP Future Via Survey

There may be no “official” plans for a PSP2 according to SCEE prez David Reeves, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t thinking about it. A recent survey sent out to select registered PSP owners members reveals Sony’s intentions to significantly update the next generation of PSP hardware. A wide range of questions are being asked, gauging interest in touch screen support, as well as the possibility of longer battery life and inclusion of a built-in hard drive.

The survey also calls for input on PSP-PSN integration. Sony is considering to bring certain PS3-only features such as friend lists, chat, and trophies over to the handheld.

Keep in the mind this is only a survey, which means none of the features outlined here may come to fruition. At any rate, though, it is reassuring to see that Sony is looking ahead and asking for input from members of the PlayStation community. This gives us hope for the PSP-4000, if there is one.

Built-in camera wasn't mentioned about at all.
Include a camera, vibration and a secondary analog stick and make it of brushed aluminium. That's all I want. Also, better browser capabilities as well as some new codec support won't be bad.
