Last March, we broke word of a Sony-sponsored survey that gauged how interested PSP owners would be in a digital comic book download service.

Sony was evidently pleased with the feedback it received, as a digital comic book store is slated to hit the PSP store later this year, SCEJ announced today. That said, these comic book offerings are only confirmed for Japan thus far, although stateside rollout of this storefront in the future seems likely.

The content will be sold digitally over the PlayStation Store and will be compatible with all PSP models. Specifics beyond that were not provided, but we’d expect to see a diverse selection of anime comics, being Japan and all.
