SCEI: Ad-hoc Party for PSP Delayed

Posted by x3sphere at October 28, 2008, 9:29 am

Previously scheduled to roll out on October 30, Sony’s ad-hoc party service for the PSP has been delayed. The service allows owners of both a WiFi-capable PS3 and PSP to take specific ad-hoc only titles online — such as Monster Hunter 2nd G and Phantasy Star Portable.

The delay was purely down to development reasons, according to the announcement made early this morning. Sony plans to pin a new launch date for the service in early November. No word yet on if or when the service will hit regions outside of Japan.

I really really really want this feature.

Imagine how many online games of things like MK2 Mk3 Street Fighter Alpha, guilty gear, bleach, naruto that could be playable this way...

They need to release this feature on all regions and offer cross region interaction with it..

oh yea

is this the feature that enables online play with other psp's?

Juliet says:

Great feature! Additionally, there can be cross platform support for this. One playing a multiplayer game with a PS3 and his/her rivals playing the same with a PSP or even a PC. This will be amazing.
