Rockstar Leeds, the development studio behind both Grand Theft Auto PSP titles, is shifting its focus to consoles. Speaking in a recent interview, studio head Gordon Hall said that the company is “branching out further into next-gen,” and now want to work on new IPs for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
To succeed on those formats you’ve got to put everything into it or step away – we’re already lucky to have a really committed team, so I think that we will step up to become an established Rockstar studio know for original projects.
Great news for PS3 and Xbox 360 owners – not so much for PSP owners. GTA: San Andreas Stories isn’t looking all that likely now.
