PSP Slim and Lite UMD Cache Results

We know that a new UMD Cache feature has been added to the PSP Slim and Lite. What this does is take advantage of the extra RAM (now 64MB) and use it to speed up UMD game loading times. Sounds great in theory, but how well does it work?
GameSpot did some extensive testing with the feature and found that it does indeed shorten load times, but not as much as you’d hope. According to their report, WWE! SmackDown vs. RAW 2007 benefited the most from this new feature, cutting load times down by 37 seconds.
Other games, like Test Drive Unlimited, marginally benefited from the feature. In fact there was one case where the load time was longer on the Slim by a second.
End verdict? The PSP Slim and Lite will slightly speed up loading times, don’t expect drastic speed-ups here.
