PSP Slim and Lite: Double the NAND space

Mathieulh has sent word that the new PSP Slim and Lite features double the NAND (flash memory) space than that of the old PSP. In total 64MB of space is available (plus 2MB of ECC spare).
If this extra space on the flash memory is used, does it mean Sony will offer two different firmware updates, one for the Lite and one for the old PSP? Probably not. Sony will most likely still offer one standard update and features will be installed depending on the model detected.
