That’s right, a new R-Type game presented in widescreen is coming to the PSP, as confirmed by Japanese gaming mag Famitsu. We have no concrete details on the game yet, but hell, it’s R-TYPE! It’s going to be good no matter what, right? Check out the magazine scan below for the first (blurry) screenshots, courtesy of JeuxFrance.

For those who are clueless as to why I’m so excited, R-Type is a classic side scrolling shoot ‘em up in a futuristic setting. It is infamous for its insane difficulty and ultra cool power-ups.
