Please don't post about you were the first to read something. On another note I wonder how long Dark Alex will take to make this custom. Like I wonder if this is loaded with defence from sony's coders, or if it's like 3.40 and it took a week to do everything? Anyone know.

The only way to know is to see if it's easily decrypted, and once the decryption happens anyway, then, well, it's done. :biggrin:

Yeah if they enabled homebrew and advertised it they could make much more money on the unit, although I doubt it as if they did it would enable people to play isos.

yeah but there's always UMDGEN and other utilities for that purpose xD

He wasn't suggesting that Sony would ever release some homebew-friendly firmware that just wouldn't allow ISOs, that defies the conventions of what homebrew can do.
Whether anybody likes it or not ISOs will always be inexplicably linked to homebrew.

well maybe because it was through homebrew that isos were starting to be used in the PSP XD

Oddly enough, playing ISOs is one of the things I do least with my PSP. Why play scaled-down versions of the same new games that are out for every other system when I can just as easily fire up Resident Evil 2 or bust out the NES emulator? Or Doom? Thanks to homebrew, my PSP sees more use than my PS2, my GameCube, or my GBA.

As far as the new FW, I'll be putting it off for as long as possible...at least until the custom version drops.

I'm completely with ya- I play emulators and PSX games on it at least 7x more than I play any sort of ISO or CSO, and I'm not exaggerating in the least. I even play my GBA games on my PSP more than my actual SP or DS, cuzza the bigger screen, which rocks hardcore.
