I didn't expect it so quickly, and I think the new waves are ugly.:laugh: Good thing Sony thought to leave the "classic" theme in there.

i am using OFW 5.00 so did alex find an exploit that makes me downgrade to 1.50 then to 5.00 M33

I'm sure there would be lots of posts about it if he has. Although if your on a slim or phat you can probably use the pandora method.

You can skip the battery check by holding R and Triangle when you start the update, I did, but keep the charger plugged in to be safe.

Is there now support of russian (cyrillic) cymbols in Recovery menu?

can't install. It just won;t do it. Says incorrect file. Have tried from GAME folder and autoupdate. Says 5.00.PBP doesn't exist.
Even if I then try to download it from the internet when it prompts, no go.

Any ideas guys?

Nice. Sadly, this kills the ability to play PSX on PSP (I think, none of mine are working. Would like to see this confirmed).

I would like to know if the OFW had some kind of protection measure in place since there was a rumor floating the other day that "hackers" wouldn't be able to use the new store. People signing in with PSN accounts they already have on their PS3 might be concerned.

You're right.

The store works fine here. I'm signing in from the same account I use on my PS3. The fact that Sony would ban people from PSN just for using custom firmware is *highly* unlikely. However, if you're using a cheat device in an online game, that could get you banned.

I am also signing on with the same account, can access it. If Sony bans people with CFW, they would be banning a LOT of people. Which means they won't buy any of the stuff available. Which means Sony would lose money. Which is bad. There's no point for them to ban us.

Ah, just noticed DA has already both confirmed the pops issue and dispelled the rumor about the store blocking CFW.

just updated and checkin all emu and psx games.. with iso so far all seem to work with the 5.00 update no problems yet

confirm all latest emus work fine witht his update, DA your the best thanks for the Update..hope to hear bout the psp brite ebing hackable

update error on phat:

i got that samething on my phat as well.. i went back to cfw4.01m33-2 then i i used my non MMS stick and did it again and it update fine...

tried on non MMS but it still got same error...

Few questions before updating:

1- Anyone got banned from the Store? XD
2- Do most of the plugins(4.01) work?
3- Themes from 4.01 work on it?
4- fatmsmod works on it? 8both decrypted and encrypted)
5- Any bugs so far?
6- 1.50 kernel included? probably not. Is it gonna be released?

4.01 themes do not work, read so far plugins a buggy or non working...not banned yetno kernal addon..

tomba.. i dunno then i got that whole error for my phat.. but i using a a MMS that still had the 4.01.pbp.. i so i figure they crossed and thats why i got the blue screen.. but i went back to 4.01m33 then i used my non 8gigmms and it went thru fine

I just tested Pops loader on CFW 5.00 it DOES NOT work. you try loading any other POP's from it, you get a blank screen then the old error of (DADADA).

I guess we'd have to wait for a update to the popsloader from DA. Which i hope would be soon, because all my PSX games on my PSP slim hang after the Software developers logo.

Please advice me regarding this new update:

- Overall, is it highly recommended to upgarde to CFW 5.00 M33 for it's new performance / function.? (Other than the PSOne emu problems coz I dun really play PSX games) and is it better that 4.01 M33-2.?
- Can I upgrade from 3.90 M33 straight away to 5.00 M33.? Or Must from 3.90 M33 to 4.01 M33 then to 5.00 M33.?

you should be good going from 3.90 m33 to 5.00 m33. The main addition here is the psn store. From my understanding of it if you don't want the store I don't think you really need the upgrade if your happy where you are. If you use plugins right now they may not work right now if you upgrade because the developers haven't had time to adapt it to the current kernal. Hope that helped.

Finally got it installed and it ROCKS!
I love the new XMB and the keyboard. haven't had a chance to try out the store yet but im sure it will be great.

I tried to translate the Recovery Menu into Chinese Simplified, but it doesn't do anything, I put ch1_recovery.txt in both ms0:/SEPLUGINS and flash1:/ but it doesn't change. Did I do something wrong?
