Possible Solution For PSP Bricks Coming
by August 21, 2007 @ 6:25 pm

You may have heard the story, one of Team M33’s more recent updates contained a protection which relied on a unique decryption algorithm. If the respective update file was modified, then the data being flashed to the PSP would effectively become corrupt.
Obviously, it was explicitly stated in the included README file to not modify the updater. However, an unnamed site took upon the liberty to modify the file’s contents and did not warn their visitors. In effect, people downloading the update from that site ended up with a bricked PSP.
However, it seems that all hope is not lost for these people. Fanjita and Team Noobz hope to develop a way to fix these bricks in the near future. The solution, currently, will be *only* for bricks caused by the M33 update.
