Old PSP Model To Be Phased Out

Much like the PlayStation 3 60GB model that’s getting phased out, Sony will also be halting production on the PSPhat. Speaking to GI.biz, SCEA Senior PR Manager Patrick Seybold has shed light on the company’s plans for the older PSP model:
The newly designed PSP will replace the original PSP design starting in September with the $169.99 PSP Core Pack and the $199.99 Daxter PSP Entertainment Pack.
This doesn’t mean Sony won’t support the older model anymore, no. Just that Sony will soon be discontinuing production, which isn’t much of a surprise to be honest.

Not a surprise at all.
It's more common sense, actually.
