New PSP Batteries Pandora Proof?
Posted by x3sphere at September 24, 2007, 8:57 pm

Fanjita of Team Noobz recently received a brand-new Sony PSP-110 battery from Amazon and to his dismay, the battery could not be successfully converted to Pandora. The only difference Fanjita saw between the old and new battery was that the old battery was made in China, whereas the new battery was made in Japan.
It wouldn’t be surprising for Sony to have patched their batteries so that they’re Pandora-proof. If this is true, then it still shouldn’t be a big problem – I’d recommend buying a new, large capacity battery to use as a regular battery, and using the original battery that came with your PSP for Pandora. And of course, you can always use Booster’s multi-IPL loader to use your Pandora battery as your primary battery, if you want. Just don’t go buying new Sony batteries for use with Pandora.
Has Sony patched new battery models to be incompatible with Pandora? Taking Fanjita’s report into account, it seems they have indeed.

Figures. Man, they just can't let us be, can they? I mean, I really wonder if they realize that although 'the scene' leads to piracy, even that lost money is more than made up for by the sheer amount of PSPs bought just for homebrew- I know mine was one.
