Update: Multi-disc Popsloader Coming Soon
Posted by x3sphere at December 11, 2007, 5:20 pm

PSP homebrew developer Mathieulh tipped us off today to let us know that a new Popsloader binary with full support for building multi-disc PSone EBOOTs is due for release soon.
Essentially, this means that when converting multi-disc PSone games for use with custom firmware on the PSP, users will be able to store and compress all the data into one EBOOT file, rather than building a separate EBOOT file for each disc.
Update: Mathieulh has taken photos of the multi-disc pops in action. Shown above is the emulator running Metal Gear Solid with multi-disc support. Additional photos are available at LAN.ST.

To be honest, its great to see Mathieulh and DAX working on the PSP but i thought 1 of the GREATEST feature if POPS was the ability to split discs into 1 file per disc ... i mean its a treat to fit a full psx game on a 1gb card and then swap for disk 2 :S
I mean I wouldnt was 2.1 gb 3 disk FF7 on my PSP ... especially if they will be needed like 1 week apart :p Waste of space imagine ... and that goes for most multi disc games :)
It would be alot kooler for them to start working on a M33 XMB, basically a bootable homebrew app, booleaned in the Recovery. This way they can add "Empy" icons with homebrew Shortcuts that are 100% customizable, and can encorprate like a very kool rotation of icons :) Basically an XMB replacement through HOMEBREW APP rather than XMB editing :))
my 2 cents ;)
