Legal Snafu Forces NIS To Rename Badman PSP Titles, Sequel Delayed

It appears NIS America ran into a bit of a legal snafu over the release of its wacky dungeon crawler Holy Invasion of Privacy Badman!: What Did I Do To Deserve This? By way of a press release, word is the game’s title drummed up a “conflict of interest” with another unnamed IP holder, forcing NIS to issue a name change. Batman, anyone?

As a result, the title will now be known under the decidedly less catchy yet still amusing identity of What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? NIS has temporarily ceased distribution of the title on the PlayStation Store, noting that it’ll return once the name switcheroo is complete. Seeing as a UMD release never made it stateside, no adjustments will have to be made at retail. Although, a physical copy did hit Europe, so collector types might want to snatch that up if NIS decides to yank it off store shelves to avoid further legal complications.

Subsequently, the sequel has been delayed till May 4, with its name being changed to What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2, reflecting that of the renamed original. Poor NIS, can’t help but feel sorry for them over this.
