Final Fantasy XIII Agito Won’t Hit Until FFXIII And Versus XIII Are Finished

We were relieved to hear that Square Enix was bringing Final Fantasy XIII Agito to the PSP after initially being announced as a cellphone exclusive, but when will we actually get to – you know – play it? According to a Dengeki interview session with company designer Tetsuya Nomura, transcribed by an FFXIII fan site, Agito won’t be hitting store shelves in Japan until both FFXIII and Versus XIII are finished.
Considering Versus is due out after FFXIII, which is scheduled for a 2009 release, it’s fairly reasonable to deduct – even though we hate to say it – that Agito might not be seen on shelves until 2010 at the earliest. Insert sad emotion here.
