Despertar del Cementerio “Universal Unbricker” v6

Posted by x3sphere at August 6, 2008, 11:31 am

Homebrew developer Dark_AleX has updated his Despertar del Cementerio “Universal Unbricker” application to version 6. As with previous releases, the unbricker can be used in conjunction with a Pandora battery to restore and install custom firmware on any PSP unit regardless of model or motherboard, excluding new TA-88 units.

Featuring a fully redesigned graphical interface that mimics that of the XMB, version 6 installs custom firmware 4.01 M33-2. Additionally, for testing purposes, users now have the option of booting the firmware directly from memory stick.

beautifully !

1 ) the installation may be better with a auto-download of the 401.PBP (if it's missing)
2 ) why the installation can't pandorise the battery at the end of the installation ?
3 ) i'ts impossible to exit the installation when I want return to the XMB before running the DC i've the message "are you sure you want to cancel ?"
if I said "YES" {
the installation continue
}
if i said "NO"{
th installation continue
}

that normal doc ?

This is an awesome release. Just got done testing on my phat and slim.

For folks that have an ELF setup all ready to go simply put the DC6 folder in PSP/GAME
also make sure 401.PBP is on root of stick.
Launch DC6 in XMB then after installation completes
simply browse contents of the stick on PC.
Look in TM folder and you will see config.txt
On my stick I have this

UP = "/TM/DC6/ipl.bin";
NOTHING = "/TM/DC5/ipl.bin";

holding nothing down on boot will present me with Jas0nuk ELF menu. Holding UP presents me with the new XMB installer GUI with options.

Hope this helps folks before the 10000 posts about it not working with ELF menu start appearing. Of course depending on exactly how your setup goes it could be different but just point the config to the correct IPL's to get options.

Many many thanks Dark_AleX for your continued work.

x3sphere says:

Do you have any custom themes installed? If so disable them. Also try formatting flash1.

Noricon says:

Is this unbricker install 4.01 M33 or 4.01 M33-2?

i was just wondering, can i delete the files for DC5 like the DC5 folder and 390.pbp now that i have DC6?

if so, which ones do i delete. because they just take up space.

x3sphere says:

You can delete the DC5 folder, as well as the 150.PBP, 340.PBP, and 390.PBP.

hey people

im in search for some advice..

i just bought a brand new PSP Light&Slim now i like to be able to download games and play them on my psp.. now i've been looking trough a 1000 guides i dont know what would be best..

can anyone please tell me wich guide is the best for my psp light&slim and then wich pack(s) do i have to download en wich guide do i need to follow?

i've also heard downgrading your psp will disable the internet browsing feature on your psp is this true or has that issue been fixed already?

thx alrdy!

Noricon says:

Does this DC install cfw on the TA-88 boards?:confused1:

x3sphere says:

DC6 fixes the problem with TA-088 v2 boards but recently a new TA-088 v3 was discovered, which does not work with Pandora at all. Unfortunately on official firmware there is no way to tell which motherboard you have without physically opening up the PSP, so you'll just have to try it.

Noricon says:

F*ck....:mad1: It is bad news.... Are the PSPs with TA-88 v3 being sold in Europe already?:confused1:

biro says:

i like the new menu

x3sphere says:

I don't know but they are being sold in the U.S. already so my guess is yes.

I have a bricked psp and I don't have a original nand dump. I am willing to try anything!! The despertar del cementerio and pandoras work on it. I can open the menu. All the functions work except it freezes when "Formatting flash0". I have been searching for help on google and haven't found anything that works. It said my nand had bad blocks 1-27 (when I just made a dump). The "test m33" works fine though. Please help me if you can. Its a Phat psp-1001.

laz305 says:

ok here is what i have and what i want to do. I already have a fat Pandora that I made along with a Magic Stick. My question is can I just add the DC6 folder to my Magic Stick and create a slim Pandora? and if so since this is the Magic Stick that created my fat Pandora what do I need to back up so that I can still change my fat Pandora back to normal?

TimTiger says:

It comes from eating alot of brains.... Mmmm zombies ;)

All you need to do is on your custom firmware enabled PSP run the DC6 file with the proper .pbp files at the root of your MS that you turned into a magic stick and then your ready to do slims and phats. no need to change your battery or make a slim battery into a pandoras. the phat battery will fit into the slim.

SAMSY says:

i'm on 4.02 can i still make magic memory stick using the 4.xx folder cause i cant select 3,xx game kernal in recovery menu? cheers!

Hi, I'm thinking of buying a psp-3007 model for the skype (It's the only available psp on the market in our area, btw I have a phat psp also. )
Can this new software release enable me to hack psp-3007 (in conjunction with my pandora battery+magic memory stick)?

Thanks in advance.
