It’s time to don those party hats, as this past weekend gave way to yet another breakthrough for avid users of homebrew applications, as well as patient souls looking for a way to get in on the action. The crew of hobbyist developers over at French site PSPGen have released 5.03 GEN-A, an updated custom firmware revision featuring support for interfacing with ChickHEN.

As a result, it is compatible with all PSP units to date, including the 3000. Essentially, this means homebrew can be enjoyed free of restrictions on any PSP running firmware 5.03, regardless of model or motherboard. Rejoice!
