Posted by x3sphere at March 30, 2008, 1:37 pm

Homebrew developer Dark_AleX has issued an update to PSP custom firmware 3.90 M33 which further improves compatibility of the built-in M33 NO-UMD driver. As usual, the update can be downloaded from Network Update or by following the direct link listed below.

* March33 NO-UMD driver compatibility has increased to support games like Coded Arms, Patapon, Harvest Moon Innocent Life and probably others affected by same errors.

frosty5689 says:

does this update fix the reading off GAME390 instead of GAME380?

x3sphere says:

No, he forgot to fix that :P Still reads from GAME380.

frosty5689 says:

WHY!!! WHY!!!!-.- lol(not updating to 3.90 m33-3 then)

xiaoxuexue says:

哪有下载的说

Tenshigami says:

I'm more intrigued by the fact that he didn't make an update to popsloader yet so that 3.90 M33 can have the same features as 3.92.

As for the GAME380 folder snafu...Seriously. Is it really worth bitching about? I'm frankly tired of having to rename that folder every time I install a new CFW.

xkadajx says:

Does this fix the sleep problem on the fat psps?

frosty5689 says:

It means alot to me having a clean custom firmware(literally bugless). That's why I've been using 3.80 M33-5(for compatibility issues too).

Gwapingn8 says:

that's true...
i'm still stuck at 3.80 M33-5,
simply just like what frosty said...
it's bugless.... only problem I found is that
I have seen to lost the 1.5 kernel capability even after trying to install it back many times... and on all 3 times, they were installed well..

I wonder why? I miss my NES games.... =(

but it's ok.. GOD of War & Crisis Core is here. =)

B2K24 says:

Most everything goes in PSP/GAME anyway.....
whats it matter?
Thank you Dark_AleX

frosty5689 says:

I like the way it works w/ GAMExxx=P

JensenQ says:

who can tell me is it include Chinese Simplified language? I want update, but worriing failed language.

JensenQ says:

perfect!!! It's ok now. My dear PSP~~

PowerPrincess says:

what is GAME390/GAME380 for??

Acerthief says:

When we put homebrews in GAME3XX folders, it means we want the homebrew to be ran through the 3.XX kernel, not 1.5 or the kernel you've set for the GAME folder.

fire-ice says:

is it only the m33 no-umd driver compatibility is the only changes on 3.90m33-3?
or is there anything?

thanks for accepting me as a new member!

frosty5689 says:

The only thing that changed is the compatibility of the m33 no-umd driver.

RJC4LIFE says:

I did notice that the recovery menu loads faster now.So when you make a change it doesn't flash the screen when changing.it used to do that for me so I'm assuming something was changed..dunno.
And there's a 3xx version of NesterJ with rewind and mirror mode..I'm on the slim and basically all my emulators have been ported to 3xx at some point so I'm not missing anything due to lack of 150..Great job on the M33 driver Alexander...

B2K24 says:

The only thing I use that needs 150 is universal remote for my phatty and on slim the better SNES emulator is the snes9xTYL 0.4.2 that will only run under 150 kernel that can be launched using timemachine.

WhiteCrane says:

i never knew 3.90 had any no umd issues.

JonC04 says:

Well WhiteCrane, it didn't really have UMD issues, it just had some games that couldn't run without the UMD Disc. For example... Patapon wasn't able to run on the Memory Stick, and could only be run through UMD, but now it can run on the Memory Stick.

tekkai1 says:

yo, i updated it too 3.90 M33-3, and woah im playing god of war and its all glitchy, is there a way to fix that? like, im upset now =(

Evilredbird says:

any 1 got 3.80 or 3.90 official ? I need the file but cant find

daveth26 says:

My utmost repsect to Dark-Alex for his ingenius work. On the release of the update to 3.90m33rev3 via either patch update or wireless network update, these are successfully tested.

However, with regard to the creation of Pandora Despertar del Cementerio revision 5, I must say it does have very misleading implementation to the steps. After several tries, I affirmed Despertar revision 4.0 of 3.80m33rev5 works perfect with my proficient DOS commands. By allowing MSIPL.BIN at the root.

For the 3.90m33rev3, Dark-Alex has infused with Time-Machine changing MSIPL.BIN to IPL.BIN into TM directory. The main purpose is to work together in hand with Time Machine which nowhere was stated.

By generating the "kd" and "registry" from the pandora 3.90m33rev3, these must be restored to the root with the previous MSIPL.BIN to work without using Time Machine. These has been tested after several tries for the mistakes in the write up.

As what Alex has stated, MSIPL.BIN is the same.

Do note the above and perhaps update everyone concerning the sequence.

Reikasuya says:

When I updated, the wave in the background goes insanely fast. Why?

JonC04 says:

Dark_Alex(DAX) is the creator of the M33 Custom Firmware and March 33rd = April 2nd, which is todays date, and this is the 1 year anniversary of it, so this is DAXs little late april fools, your date will be 3/33, Name is changed to March 33, Mac Address is 33333333333, it's all just an Aprils fools thing, it should change back to normal tomorrow

Reikasuya says:

I turned on my psp everything except the wave was fixed; but then I turned it off then on and it's all good now.

thomasf says:

By the way, is source code for this program anywhere?
I was going to make a program and this would be good to base my code off of!

x3sphere says:

Crait: nope, the M33 firmware is closed source. Will likely stay that way as long as Dark_AleX continues to develop it.
