With new cfw 5.00 m33-3, the option in Recovery Menu "Use version.txt" is useless, wherever if is enable ou disable, right???

In such case, DA may exclude this option from Recovery in next update, I guess...

Right, you don't need to use the version.txt option anymore. It'll probably stay, though, for people that have been wanting to change their version number.

Yes, you can. Just remember to place the 500.PBP file in the same UPDATE folder.

Hey how do you use version.txt? I have a version.cfg in the root.

It should be named as version.txt... you'll need to use PSARDumper to decrypt a firmware EBOOT and use the version.txt from the extracted firmware.

download Sony's Official Firmware 5.00 and rename it to 500.PBP

and CFW 5.00 m33-3.

ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE (should contain EBOOT.PBP and 500.PBP)

Ok I have tried both ways but it says "the game could not be started error 80020148" after downloading the 5.00 from internet

i think u have to update to 3.52m33-3 then i think u can update straight from thetre, i use the newest dc to update to 4.01m33 then just use the 5.00m33-3 update

I think you can go straight from 3.42 m33-4 to 5.00 m33-3.

Hi all, I have my Phat PSP running 4.01 M33-2 right now.
I've tried both 'Network Update' and via computer unsuccessfully.
Whenever I try to upgrade to 5.00 M33-3, it says the following:

The system configuration of this PSP system does not appear to be correct.
The update cannot be completed.
Contact technical support for assistance.
(DRNFFFFFFBO)

Where am I doing wrong?
I've read and followed the installation directions carefully....
Btw, my battery is fully charged each time I tried upgrading.

I have 2 psp slim, I updated the first one from 3.90 to 4.01 M33 CFW and it works fine.
I tried the other one from 4.01 M33 to 5.00 M33-3, I followed all the procedures but it just didn't continued, it just keep on sayng "incorrect file" while verifying the 500.PBP.

Need some help guys plsss?

Make sure that you're battery is 75% or more before updating.

You download the 5.00m33-3 update and put it in PSP/GAME/UPDATE/ then download the official 5.00 update rename it to 500.pbp and put it in the update folder. Then turn on your psp and run the update.

You only need to install the 150 addon if you have 150 apps and it only works on phat psps.
